Zanzibar Channel This is the general name for an area that extends from South Zanzibar all the way South of Dar es Salaam in a radius of 25 miles. Billfish: Good possibilities of catching billfish from November to March . Tuna: Tuna are present all year round. Dorado: Dorado move into the Channel in huge numbers from February to May offering excellent opportunities for light tackle and fly fishing. Wahoo: Wahoo are also present in the Channel year round and can offer good action when they are running which is in August to September and then from December to March. Giant Trevally: Good chance of catching big Giant Trevally in South Zanzibar, November to May.
