LATHAM ISLAND
Latham Island has plenty of reef fish and some of them in very big sizes.
The ALL TACKLE WORLD RECORD Giant Grouper was set in Latham Island with an enormous 179.50 kg fish caught by
Shayne Nelson (Skipper: Maddalena Martinengo - Captain: Jason Alexiou - Boat: Shuwari).
Another large Giant Grouper was caught in Latham: a 130.80 kg fish, caught by Vince on Hanna, skippered by Maddalena
Martinengo, captain: Jason Alexiou.
This Giant Grouper would have also been an All Tackle World Record if we would have not just caught
the 179.50 kg one.
MAFIA ISLAND
Mafia Island is another good place for reef fishing.
SOUTH ZANZIBAR CHANNEL and KILWA
Kilwa and the South Zanzibar Channel can also offer some
good reef fishing during the period of February, March, April.
